The mission of the Capital Area Food Bank is to feed those who suffer from hunger in the Washington DC metro area by acquiring food and distributing it through its network of partner agencies\; and educating\, empowering and enlightening the community about the issues of hunger and nutrition.\n\n\n\nEvery year in November\, Dr. Solano sponsors a Food Drive & Fundraiser to benefit the CAFB. The focus of this event is to raise awareness and most importantly collect food/funds for those in our own backyards that are less fortunate. Admission to the event requires guests to make a canned\, boxed food\, and/or hygiene product donation at the door.\n\n\n\n**For admission\, each guest is required to donate at least ($15 value) of canned\, boxed food\, and/or hygiene products. Please be generous. In lieu of food donations\, you may also make a cash/check contribution.**\n\n\n\nDuring the course of the evening\, guests have an opportunity to mingle with local celebrities including media personalities and athletes. In addition\, guests can take part in a silent auction consisting of business services\, sports memorabilia\, tickets to events\, health services\, restaurant gift cards\, vacation getaways\, and more. 100% of the proceeds benefit the CAFB! Furthermore\, the restaurant host (Mad Fox Brewing Co.) will donate a portion of their proceeds to CAFB for those guests that choose to dine. Last year\, we had over 250 guests come through the door. To date\, we have collected over 10\,000 pounds of food!\n\n\n\nThis year\, WPGC - 95.5 FM has gotten involved and will be helping us raise awareness by continuously announcing the event on the radio. We are honored to welcome Midday Host "Sunni" as our special host for the evening.\n\n\n\nThis event is also the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce Mixer for November. We look forward to seeing you on the 11th!
