DESCRIPTION:Iyona has performed in Creative Cauldron's productions as Asaka inOnce on This Island\, as the Green Girl in Shout! The Mod Musical and as Good Sister in the Helen Hayes Awards   Recommended production of Thunder Knocking on the Door.Iyona has also been seen as on the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater stage in the Washington\, DC Premier of Soul on Fire the Musical\, as well as its Off Broadway productions\, in the Christmas Gift\, Breast in Show\, a breast cancer musical\, Fats Waller's Ain't Misbehavin'\, and Langston Hughes' Black Nativity. In 2014\, Iyona toured China and Korea\, Asia with the New York Harlem Singers performing solo and ensemble music. Iyona has graced the stage in her 60 minute recital "My Favorite Things" of her favorite art songs\, arias\, spirituals\, and musical theater repertoire. Iyona has been featured as the encore soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra and NEWork Productions\, and made TV and concert appearances with Academy and Tony Award winning Glen Hansard. In 2012\, Iyona performed internationally by joining an impressive ensemble of nine professional singers on a cultural envoy to Cairo\, Egypt\, among 12 other countries representing the United States in an international festival of sacred music and chanting\, to name a few.
