SUMMARY:On Eagles' Wings Veterans Day 10K
DESCRIPTION:Grace Christian Academy (GCA) will be hosting the On Eagles' Wings Veterans Day 10K race on Monday\, November 12th at 10:00 a.m.  In its 15th year\, the race attracts runners from all over the metro area.  The course takes runners through Holmes Run Stream Valley Park and some beautiful neighborhood settings.  \n\nThe race begins after a memorable opening ceremony during which the scholars of Grace Christian Academy recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Many scholars participate in a 3K walk and 1K fun run. Great food is served during a lively awards ceremony and prize raffles immediately following the event.\n\nProceeds from On Eagles' Wings will be shared between the Grace Christian Academy tuition assistance program which helps provide scholarships for economically disadvantaged families\, and Decorate a Vet\, a local charity dedicated to assisting Northern Virginia veterans take care of basic household chores such as cleaning gutters\, clearing brush\, trimming tree limbs\, or maintaining their sidewalks and landscapes\, beautifying their houses and yards\, culminating each year on "decorating day" when hundreds of volunteers gather to decorate their homes for the holidays.
