In 1991\, he was inspired to go to China to study with the Buddhist Priests at the Shaolin Temple. While there\, meditating on one of the three mountains\, a small "ancient" looking monk appeared and told him of an instrument that heals by vibration and sound. He further stated that over 6\,000 years ago the wise ones of the earth had mastered the art of healing with vibrations created by instruments similar to the gongs that can still be found in temples throughout the orient. However\, the art of combining the harmonic energies of the instrument to heal had been lost. The ancient one offered to teach him this art if he would agree to create the instrument.
