Bill was born in Washington DC and makes his home in Vienna, Virginia. He started singing and playing the banjo in 1953 and went on to become the founder of the world famous Country Gentlemen and the leader of the US Navy's Country Current country/bluegrass band. He is one of the most influential 5-string banjo players of all time and has recorded and performed with more bands than any other banjo player. Doors open at 6pm, concert starts at 7pm. The series at the park's Visitor Center is sponsored by the Friends of Frying Pan Park and Vienna hardwoods in cooperation with the Fairfax County Park Authority. Food and drinks available for purchase. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door.
This Sunday performance series, held at Frying Pan Farm Park's Visitor Center, showcases some of the best of local and regional Bluegrass musicians. Food and beverages are available. Doors open at 6pm, concert starts at 7pm. Tickets will be available for pick-up at the door the night of the show. All sales are final. Season Pass guarantees reserved seating for all shows.
