Featured Artist David Jenkins
Dave Jenkins is a self-taught papercutter from Arlington, Virginia. During Dave’s 30-year career with the federal government—where he worked as a geographer and, most recently, as a senior manager—he found papercutting to be an artistic outlet after work. Now retired, he continues to find this intricate art form to be relaxing, despite it being compared to “doing brain surgery on paper.” Over the past 14 years, he has sold some 1,800 original pieces, including numerous special commissions. Dave is a member of the Guild of American Papercutters (GAP) and the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. Join Dave for FIRSTfriday!
