Food Drive & Fundraiser for Capital Area Food Bank & Chamber Mixer

In 2007, Dr. Ray Solano wanted to partner with a local charity to help those in our own backyards...the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) was a perfect fit. The mission of the Capital Area Food Bank is to feed those who suffer from hunger in the Washington metro area by acquiring food and distributing it through its network of partner agencies; and educating, empowering and enlightening the community about the issues of hunger and nutrition.

Each year in November, Dr. Ray Solano sponsors a Food Drive & Fundraising Reception to benefit the CAFB. The focus of this event is to raise awareness and most importantly raise food and funds for the cause. 

*For admission, each guest is required to donate a ($10 value) of canned, boxed food, and/or hygiene products. In lieu of food donations, you may also make a $10 cash/check contribution. 

During the course of the evening, guests can enjoy an opportunity to mingle with local celebrities and pillars from the community. You never know who is going to stop by! In the past years, we've had NFL stars, media personalities, Olympians and more come through to show their support. This year, we will have Ball Hogs Radio broadcasting their weekly show LIVE from the event. In addition, guests can also take part in a silent auction consisting of business services, sports memorabilia, tickets to events, health services, restaurant gift cards, vacation getaways, and more. 100% of the proceeds benefit the CAFB! 

This year, the event has been moved to Mad Fox Brewing Co. in Falls Church. If you've never been before, Mad Fox has received numerous awards for their food, craft beers, and service in downtown Falls Church.
