Herban Lifestyle Store to Open in Merrifield Nov. 29
Local shoppers seeking gifts that make the world a happier, healthier, better-smelling place will have a new option this holiday season. On Black Friday, the Herban Lifestyle Store will open in Fairfax, Va., selling handmade bath and body products crafted from certified organic and Fair Trade ingredients, wrapped in attractive earth-friendly packaging.

 
Doors will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at 2931-C Eskridge Road in Fairfax—two blocks from MOM’s Organic Market's Merrifield store.
 
First Store for Local Crafter
Herban Lifestyle started in Founder and President Mary Kearns’ kitchen five years ago. The new store will be its first retail location. Previously, Herban Lifestyle products have been sold online, in select retail locations and at crafting events nationwide. At the store, customers can see and sniff Herban Lifestyle’s entire line to choose just the right gift.
 
A New Community Hub
The store also will serve as a gathering spot for people to share practical ideas about sustainability, self-sufficiency, creative reuse, and safer products. Members of the community will be welcome to join events or use hands-on resources at the store, including these:
 
·        Weekend workshops and evening classes to teach people how to make their own truly natural personal care and household products, as well as other green crafting techniques.
·        Mom’s Craft & Chat Group on Tuesday mornings, an opportunity for women to make eco-friendly crafts and meet other moms.
·        Learning library for people who want to make their own bath and body products, plus a variety of USDA Certified Organic and Fair Trade Certified ingredients and sustainable packaging.
 
“We are excited to provide a fun, sweet-smelling community hub where people can learn and share the skills and find the products they need to live healthier, more-sustainable lives,” said Kearns.
