Description
On December 4, 2025 the Village Preservation and Improvement Society joins with the Mary Riley Styles Public Library Foundation to present a journey through four centuries of Virginia winemaking at an exciting tasting and educational evening. Designed for wine lovers and history buffs, this event is for anyone curious about the evolution of winemaking in the Commonwealth.
Andrew Painter, renowned author of Virginia Wine: Four Centuries of Change, will lead a fascinating exploration of Virginia’s wine story—from colonial vineyards to today’s modern wineries. Participants will sample authentic wines representing each era of Virginia viticulture, chosen to illuminate the region’s development and diversity. Each wine tasting will be paired with cheeses supplied by The Cheese Cartel and select chocolates for a truly memorable flavor experience.
Whether you’re a seasoned wine enthusiast or new to Virginia wines, this event promises an enriching and flavorful evening. Enjoy thoughtfully selected wines, insightful stories, and delicious pairings—a toast to the past, present, and future of Virginia wine!
