In 1968, this musical revue made its triumphant off-Broadway theatrical premiere, introducing audiences to the poignant, passionate and profound work of Belgian singer/songwriter Jacques Brel. Brimming with humor and sophistication and mining poetic themes of love, romance, war, death, being young and growing old, Brel’s songs tell the story of what it means to be truly alive. A powerful, intimate, bold and emotional evening of theater that has been putting audiences under its spell for more than five decades.
