She has participated in international projects sponsored by Art House Co-Op based in Brooklyn, NY. Wendy has taken art classes in a variety of media at places including the University of Virginia, The Art League, Glen Echo Park, and Artisphere; and she is a member of The Art League in Alexandria, VA. . Wendy works as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Arlington County public schools and often uses art therapy interventions in treating her clients. Wendy's artwork will be on display for the entire month.
Also on hand this month for Friday, October 5th and Saturday, October 6th only is Featured Artisan: Grace Napoleon, who hand-stitches her Folk Couture line of reinvented clothing, including tunics, sweaters, dresses and gowns.
Grace says "In my sea of raw materials, aka my studio, a piece of clothing might sit for months until finally it’s ready to tell me what it wants to be. More often than not, however, the dialogue and the vision are immediate: I see a well-made, previously-loved something—a fine cashmere sweater, a rough hewn linen dress, a shimmery skirt that twirls the way skirts are meant to—and in no time I set about cutting and pinning and making new clothes, the likes of which no one else has ever imagined. "
Come see select pieces from her one of a kind line of clothing.
