Watercolor is a medium that seems created for painting flowers. Live flowers will be our models, helping us recreate all their beauty. You will learn how to mix colors correctly to get pure shades, how to create the shapes of flowers with color, and how to build a flower composition, both in a bouquet and as a solo object.
Please note: Students must have completed vaccination for Covid-19. Falls Church Arts follows the current guidelines for masking, which are updated as needed.
Supplies you will need: watercolor paints, brushes, watercolor paper, board or any flat surface (approximately 15×15 inches), water container, paper napkins, pencil (?, 2?), eraser, palette
Iryna Smitchkova is a professional artist, instructor, and book illustrator. She received an Academic Art Diploma and majored in watercolor. Today she works in different fields and techniques, such as oil, acrylic, ink, pencil, sanguine, and more. But her main love remains Her Majesty, Watercolors. What inspires her? She tries to answer this question with certainty. Sometimes it is people, sometimes nature, smells, sensations, feelings, or experiences. Having completed a classical art education, she continues to study and discovers something new every day. Iryna was a participant in many international symposia, solo and group exhibitions in different parts of the world. Her works are shown in private collections all over Europe, Africa, and America.
