National News Series Features Acton Academy Falls Church in Special on Microschools and Alternative Education
Acton Academy Falls Church, a member of the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce, was recently featured in a national investigative news segment exploring the rise of microschools and alternative education models. The segment, part of the Sunday morning political affairs and investigative series hosted by journalist Sharyl Attkisson, spotlighted the innovative learning environment at Acton Academy.
The news crew spent an afternoon at Acton, capturing the unique educational approach that empowers learners through self-directed discovery and real-world problem-solving. Learners had the opportunity to share their experiences on camera, and one of our founding parents was interviewed about her family’s journey with Acton Academy.
“We were thrilled to welcome the team and showcase how Acton Academy is redefining education,” said Co-founder Barbara Jauregui “While we didn’t have input on the final edit, many of our learners shared powerful insights, and we hope to conduct more interviews ourselves to highlight their voices further.”
This national recognition underscores Falls Church’s role as a hub for educational innovation. The segment is now available for viewing at: https://youtu.be/VuN95rKIk6U?si=Kk44YjNTF_qaVNNn.
