Stifel & Capra is pleased to welcome March visiting artist Eileen M. O'Brien. O'Brien is a collage and mosaic artist, and will be working at the studio upstairs and showing her creations throughout the month of March. Stifel & Capra is located at 260 W. Broad St., Falls Church, VA 22046 and is open Monday through Saturday, 10am-5pm, open Sunday, 12noon- 5pm.
Eileen O'Brien sees herself as the ultimate recycler, finding numerous ways to reuse materials. For example, for her collage pieces, she often uses watercolor paintings as the base, and then creates patterns and layers with hand-painted papers, paints and other media. She started creating mosaic arts and crafts in 2007 and often uses discarded plates, glassware and tiles, as well as scraps leftover from stained glass projects in her pieces.
