Falls Church City Council to Proclaim International Repair Day

Falls Church, VA — September 8, 2025 — The City of Falls Church City Council will issue a proclamation recognizing International Repair Day on Monday, September 8 at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.

International Repair Day highlights the global movement to reduce waste, extend the life of products, and build a culture of repair, reuse, and sustainability. By embracing repair, communities save resources, support the environment, and strengthen connections among neighbors.

This initiative is led by The Learning Quest, a Falls Church–based non-profit dedicated to fostering community learning and engagement. The effort aligns with the City of Falls Church Vision for 2040, which calls for a thriving, sustainable, and connected community.

“Repair isn’t just about fixing objects—it’s about building resilient, sustainable communities, and a great problem-based learning opportunity”, said Belen Quellet, ED of The Learning Quest.

Residents are invited to attend the proclamation ceremony, stand with City leaders in support of a repair culture, and learn more about ongoing initiatives to make Falls Church a leader in sustainability.
