VIRGINIA DREAM FC EARN WIN AGAINST FREDERICK FC

Falls Church, VA – Virginia Dream FC defeated Frederick FC at “The Cloud” in NPSL competition to improve the team’s record to 3 wins and 1 loss. The victory places The Dream in second place in the Mid-Atlantic Conference. The dominant performance started early in the match when just 3 minutes into the game Fela Osifesu pounced on a spilled save by the Frederick keeper and put the ball into the back of the net. Diarra Zoumana, Virginia Dream’s UPSL Golden Boot Winner with 12 goals, opened his scoring account in the NPSL with 2 first half goals. The score at halftime was 3-0 and the weather made a mandatory evacuation of the stadium necessary. In the second half The Dream continued to create scoring opportunities but a solid performance by the Frederick keeper kept the team from scoring. The final score line was 3-0. On Wednesday, June 17, Virginia Dream travel to Frederick for the return fixture. Kickoff is 7pm. On Sunday, June 21 the team hosts Toros in a UPSL semifinal game. Kickoff is 5:30pm.
